Most creatives or “makers” are at work in their own minds but we tend to get lost in the mental work rather than the doing/making. So where do these ideas go? How do we maximize our creative potential and bring our ideas to life? This online course is taught by Heidi Norton, Kate Steciw and is open to all levels and mediums. Rick Rubin’s ”The Creative Act” is used as a practical guide on how to make your practice a ritual and realize all the possibilities within. The course is designed to fortify your artistic practice as well as clarify your goals and intentions for that practice. It is taught through the lens of the instructor’s practices. Each week the instructor(s) will lead a brief introduction to the reading and exercise. After that introduction, individuals will share for 20 minutes their experiences with that chapter. Expected to dedicate 2-4 hours on average outside of class, but this may vary.
