Service Description
In this class we will make a photography book and a series of prints for the wall. Learn about the power of editing and sequencing in photography, and how to create meaning through image order..This class critically examines how a series of images are structured and the significance those structures hold. We will look at different ways people sequence images from gridded installations, to diptychs, to books and more. Assignments develop skillful use and understanding of serial imagery by engaging narrative and non-narrative strategies in a variety of sequences, books, zines, portfolios, web-based projects, installations, videos, and projected presentations. These discussions will be topic based and include readings, slides, and cultural research.Through these discussions and critiques, students learn how to orchestrate all of the important decision-making research processes and means necessary to achieve the self-defined goal of bringing their projects to fulfillment.
